Deviation Actions
I just want to make a clearer submission guideline
This group is intended for sporting dogs (as in those that belong in the sporting group) or for dogs of any breed doing some sort of action/sporting event. I have let it slide in the past, allowing non-action, non-sporting dog images, however, I think this group needs to return to its original intent
Also, official rules for submissions! This group has gotten larger so I think it's time to set some official rules/guidelines so that both people submitting and those getting the submissions in their inbox will be happy.
Please remember anything rejected is rejected for a reason - me nor my contributors are trying to be mean! If you follow this guideline you should have no troubles with the submission process. If you don't, however, your photograph may be subject to being declined. If this happens I will be sure to post the reason why before you even have to ask! If you would like an in depth explanation or a critique you may ask for it as well.
Official Rules & Guidelines
All photographs should be sporting dog related. The only breeds that are allowed to be in a still shot are those in the Sporting dog category as represented by the AKC. If you're unsure if your dog is in that group you may submit, but please be aware you are risking a decline. ALL breeds are welcomed as long as they are moving or in a sporting enviornment. For example, if you have a Boxer posed in front of agility equipment, this IS allowed. If you have him posed in just a general setting, however, it will be declined. I love all breeds of dogs, believe me, however this is a sporting dogs group, so I'd like to stick to the title and reason this group was made
There is still no submission limit; however, if you choose to enter 10 photographs in one day I will hold out and only accept a few of them a day.
All photographs MUST be of decent quality - this means no red eye, no blurring, etc. If there is slight blurring it's ok. For example if a dog is running and it's feet are blurry that is fine. The photograph must be relatively clear and must be a step above a "snapshot". "Snapshots" in my rulebook are simple photographs taken without artistic intent; if you took a photograph to post a a facebook thing, chances are it is a snapshot
All writing pieces should be literate in the sense of grammar and spelling. Of course I will not care if there are a few mistakes, but it shouldn't be full of them.
All drawings should appear as though time was taken to make them. Since drawings are not my specialty I will probably allow most of them to slide, however please don't post doodles or silly things that you draw in your notebook while bored in class (unless you draw cool stuff, then, ya know, that's ok) I will probably not be able to give you heavy critique in this matter if your deviation gets declined, however I have a few art friends who would probably volunteer to help you out
Please remember to put all art in the correct categories. They will be declined and you will be asked to resubmit to the proper category
Hope this helps with submissions! Thanks to everyone for reading this ^^

In Need of Dog Sport Photos!
A good friend and fellow member, Rikkanna (https://www.deviantart.com/rikkanna), is in need of sport photos for a project she is doing. It is education related and I have always been for allowing people to use my photographs when it comes to education so I am announcing her need for photos here!
http://rikkanna.deviantart.com/journal/Request-for-Dog-Sport-Photos-465790002
Her journal explains it further. Any help is much appreciated :)
Would be awesome to get more information out on all the cool sports people can do with their dogs!
Submission Reminder!
Please be sure you are submitting to the correct folder when you send us submissions. :)
While we love seeing your photos and art we've been getting some submissions to the wrong folders, and this both creates more work for staff and we have to deny your submission and ask you to go through resubmission :(
Don't make us feel mean and just quick double check you're submitting correctly! It helps us post your submissions more quickly, and keep our galleries organized and clean looking :)
Your Favorite Dog Sport?
I think this is a good question for the members of this group: What's your favorite dog sport? Why? Do you participate in this sport?
I'll answer this for myself. I've ran flyball and agility and by far I'd have to say agility is my favorite. You make such a close bond with your dog when you run agility. It's not to say you don't with flyball, but, it's a totally different field. The agility field is you and your dog and the obstacles. That's all. And that's the way I love it. I love the connection it made me form with my dog, a connection that will never be broken even though we no longer run agility.
So, what's your favorite?
Does Your Dog Get Gifts For the Holidays?
Hello members and watchers! Since the holiday season is all around, I figured this was a fitting question to ask - does your dog get to open gifts as well?
What does your dog get this year? (I won't tell)
Tucker and Emma are getting only a few presents this year, they have so many toys as it is since they don't destroy them. Emma is getting three tennis balls (all in one package, which, by the way, she took off with yesterday and almost opened early! Bad dog stealing gifts from under the tree) and a cow plush, because I thought a cow fits her well (her nickname is fats, lol). Tucker is getting a cupcake toy and a frog that's the same as Emm
